Power of attorney to be granted in Chile

As provided under the Industrial Property Law in force, a special power of attorney, which may be granted by means of a private deed execute by a Notary Public or through a public deed, is required to represent a natural person or a legal entity before the Industrial Property Department.

Note that only the power of attorney granted through public deed allows us to carry out judical proceedings, some recommend that such power of attorney be granted to fulfill this requirement.

Power of attorney to be granted outside Chile.

A special power of attorney duly certified before a Notary Public and legalized by Chilean Consul nearest to the place of execution must be granted.
